In 2008, at the age of 25, died of an accidental overdose.īrad Renfro is only 19, but he has already garnered one accolade that his famous costars, which include Ian McKellan ( Apt Pupil), Robert De Niro ( Sleepers) and Susan Sarandon ( The Client), will probably never receive. Renfro continued to have legal problems related to substance abuse. In this interview from the July 2001 issue of Movieline magazine, Renfro insisted that he had moved on from his hard-partying days. Brad Renfro made his debut in the John Grisham movie, The Client, in 1994 opposite Susan Sarandon and Tommy Lee Jones.
